Binocular Microscope

Binocular Microscope
A binocular microscope is an indispensable tool for a gemologist. It allows him to get a close up view of a gemstone. White Mountain Jeweler's microscope is connected to a monitor so you can see in great detail the unique features of your diamond or the condition of your jewelry before and after repairs. This enables you to be better informed about the identity of your gemstone and to better understand the repairs that your jewelry may need.

Two-Dimensional CAD (Computer-Aided Designing)
Two-Dimensional CAD is a quick and easy way to allow you to see what your gemstones will look like in a different setting or what your ring would look like with different (or additional) gemstones. In years past, a jeweler or salesperson would hand draw a sketch on paper in an attempt to convey what the new jewelry might look like. Those hand-drawn sketches were acceptable when there was no other option, but now the new "sketch" is nearly a photograph of what the finished jewelry would look like.

Three-Dimensional CAD (Computer-Aided Designing)
Three-dimensional jewelry designing is very new to the jewelry industry. Few jewelers have taken on the challenge of learning this new option, but for those who have, it has opened up a world of new opportunities in designing. The precision and flexibility of three-dimensional designing allows us to design whatever you want. It's up to you whether you want jewelry that has a simple, symmetrical design or jewelry that is intricate and bold.

When we finish a design on the computer, we can print a "rendering" of the jewelry. The rendering is so close to a photograph some people think the jewelry has already been made! This allows you to approve the design or suggest changes before you commit to the final work being completed.

Computerized Carving Mill
The computerized carving mill is used hand-in-hand with three-dimensional designing. Once you have approved the jewelry design, we download it to the mill to begin the manufacturing process. Although many jewelers still carve jewelry by hand today, White Mountain Jeweler's carving mill can produce much more accurate jewelry, have more flexibility with a single design and is much faster than carving by hand. In addition, if changes need to be made, the re-design is much faster as well.

Laser Welding
We offer superior jewelry repair utilizing the precision and safety of a laser welding machine. Laser technology enables us to perform repairs that previously would have been impossible or very expensive. The use of the laser welding machine makes repairs possible and more cost effective for you. Recent advances in laser technology enables us to restore and repair vintage jewelry, perform eyeglass repairs and safely work on jewelry with heat-sensitive gemstones.

Computerized Engraving

Jewelry has been engraved for centuries. The process had always been completed by an artist specializing in engraving. In modern times various machines have been employed to imitate the wonderful work that had been done by these artists. The computerized engraving tools became available a decade ago and offer a wonderful variety of engraving styles. The computerized equipment that White Mountain Jewelers has can engrave on almost anything (metal, glass, wood, cardboard, leather, etc.) and can engrave almost anything that you can imagine (dozens of font styles, personal signatures, company logos, hand written notes, etc.)
